My thanks to the Kennel Club for my appointment to judge the Miniature Bull Terriers at their prestigious show, to my exhibitors for their fantastic entries, never before at Crufts to my knowledge, so many great Champions and to my hardworking stewards keeping the ring moving smoothly. Dogs were shown in good general health, sizes are getting towards the required height, I did observe 1 undershot, 2 canines slightly out of line and 3 lower incisors damaged/misshapen teeth. Please take care when playing with your dogs, accidents do happen. However, what did draw one’s attention was movement, hackney/pulling under at one side at the front/back, dancing all over the place, some dogs couldn’t walk in a straight line. Please breeders/trainers, this MUST be corrected for future development as soon as possible in puppies and younger dogs, whilst learning can be overlooked for a time but by Crufts more time should have been spent/concentrated on their training and d/b should be under firmer control. On the whole I was proud of the good standard of your Minis, thank you for giving me the honour of judging them, my best wishes for your future competitions, may I also request you leave your filming to the end of classes of male/female judging, one dog had a photographer jump out with a flash during his movement assessment and it really spooked him, also sitting on/in the entrance to a ring taking pictures is not the place to be.

Just over 9 years of age, white, larger, lacks on head to one but otherwise has good strong bone and substance, well balanced ratio to size otherwise has the same good points as 1, shown in good condition.

A saying came to mind as he entered the ring, ‘reet peteti’, he certainly was, ticked all my boxes, had all virtues including that extra ‘zush’, he had it all, including movement around the ring, well worthy of his DCC. Black eye/ear marking, either 1 or 2 could have changed places but whereas one was petite the other was stronger and heavy weight type, each on his own merit stood out, my preference today was made on these points, very good bone, substance and presents a good overall picture but lack on arc and turn of stifle, RDCC

Tricolour, failed to settle but appears to have all virtues of one, her colouring makes her stand out and I am sure we will see more of her with future training and socialising
