This year Richmond had tickets on offer, which is encouraging news. Let’s hope the Miniature Bull Terrier community continue to support this event going forward. I had the privilege of being invited to judge at this well- known event. The venue is excellent and show, as usual, is very well organised. My thanks to committee for the invitation and of course to the exhibitors for their entries and support. The weather started off fairly cool, ideal dog showing conditions really but by the time we got into the ring around lunchtime it turned out to be fairly hot. Some of the exhibits weren’t keen on the grass which was apparent in their movement. All were shown in good condition and well presented. The eventual CC & RCC winning animals were all very worthy winners and good examples of the breed.

1st DUVESSA SHEER KHAN (MRS D M WILSON)
Small compact brindle and white good size, lots of bone with a strong head, good ear placement and a good mouth. Muscular body with a decent length of back. Ideally would have liked to see a little more length of leg in the front. He has good hindquarters although today wasn’t entirely happy moving on the grass which was reflected in his movement. Shown in good condition.

1st BYZANTINE BOMBARDIER (MRS J A PEAKIN)
Substantial well marked B/B with lots to like about him. He has a classical head which is long and shapely complete with a good mouth and big teeth to match. Muscular neck, straight front and good feet. Good bone and substance to match his size. Muscular body and developed hindquarters. He moved well both ways and was presented and handled in good condition. In the final challenge I just preferred the compactness and head of the winner. I was pleased to award him the RDCC

1st MERLINDAN DESPERARDO OF BULLYON (MR M & MRS J PHILLIPS)
Well marked compact B/W. His head is very much his crowning glory with a lovely profile, fill and strength, good expression with a perfect mouth, not always an easy thing to achieve with a head like this. He has enough bone for size, good straight front, short compact body and decent rear quarters, he just loses his topline on the move, and moved straight in front, would like to see him drive a little more from behind. He is lively but when he stands, he is four square and makes the most of himself. A very smart mini with the attitude to match.DCC
2nd BULLYPINS KIRIOS (MR & MRS A & M LLEWELLYN)
White with eye mark, another compact dog, shapely strong head, not quite the overall strength of 1 but very well put together with a decent length of back, well made throughout. Strong hindquarters and moved well in front and behind. Good effort and well done to the handler.

1st OLYMPUSBULYS ATHENA (MRS & MR D I & R WILSON & MR & MRS J & HARPER)
. 7 month old B/B lovely head, expression, eyes and well set ears, couple of misplaced teeth. Shown in good condition. Good length of back, good topline with strong hindquarters moving well both ways. Another young bitch who hopefully should improve with age. Shown in good condition. BP
2nd MERLINDAN FUNACE (MR P D & MS S M KERSHAW & HAKALA)
Cobby 11 month old B/W. Not quite the head and expression of first. Nice front section, neck and body, carries her tail a little high. Would like to see more angulations and strength in her hindquarters. She moved straight in front and closer behind. A pretty bitch who was nicely handled and presented.

1st KILTONTHORPE MIDNIGHT MOON (MISS K MANSELL)
A nice type of bitch with a good outline and body. Her head is long and shapely, just needs more profile, one misplaced tooth. Nice neck, broad chest, straight front and good feet.
Good bone throughout for her size. Moved well both ways with good hindquarters. Another one who at 18 months old is still developing.

1st AEDESTAURUM FANCY DRESS AT OLYMPUSBULYS (MR J HARPER)
An attractive B/W bitch who is well put together and soundly made. Long elegant head with a good mouth and expression, just needs more profile to finish off her head. A good amount of bone and looks very nice standing. Moved well both coming and going.
2nd PHUNSIZE DIVA HEDDY (DR M BENNETT)
A pretty little B/W with a good head, well placed ears and nice eye. Nice front and decent length to body. She was a little unsettled today and her movement was a difficult to fully assess. Full marks to her handler who remained calm and worked hard to get the best out of her.

1st BULLYPINS KADENZA (MR & MRS A & M LLEWELLYN)
Top quality beautiful bitch, she is completely balanced throughout and full of breed type. Really lovely head, good mouth, neck, shoulders, wide chest and front with a strong developed body and good spring of rib. Standing she has all the right proportions with a good topline well set tail and muscular quarters. She moved accordingly and was one of the best on the move today. Her coat and presentation were excellent. She thoroughly deserved the CC today. Although a little hot in the end she looked the part in the Terrier Group. I was pleased her owners stayed to represent the breed which is important. BCC & BOB
2nd BULLYON MEASURE OF MINNIE (MR & MRS M B PHILLIPS)
A different type of bitch to first. B/B. Smaller in stature and still immature at 15 months old. Another good headed bitch, with the best of profiles, well placed eyes, ears and good mouth. She has ample bone for her size, nice straight front could have a little more forehand, has a decent length of body. When she settled on the move, she covered the ground well in front and ok behind. She is every inch a mini not only in size but character and super lively. A nice feminine young bitch, not quite the overall maturity and movement of first.RBCC
