My thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge this show and immense thanks to the exhibitors who gave me a fabulous entry of 44 and a good turnout of 21 to go over on the day. We held a minute’s silence for the sad passing of Sheila Harding and Phail Merryweather at the start of the show. I will start by saying that this was probably one of the hardest appointments I have had in a long time and I certainly had to think long and hard about what I considered to be of most importance in some classes and keep virtues in the forefront of my mind. However I know it wasn’t just me who worked up a bit of a sweat making some tough decisions and as Raymond Oppenheimer would have said, I would rather have a virtuous dog with faults, than a “faultless non entity”

1st QUAYARDSON SIR CEDRIC (MR & MRS J G & A MOUNTFORD)
Black brindle. The makings of a nicely made boy. Good lay of shoulder and front. Well angulated rear. A little bum high at present. Nice fill under eye, good depth of muzzle and neat ears. Correct mouth. Good depth of brisket. Neat feet. Very promising puppy.
Junior Dog Entries 3 Absentees 2
1st SEAQUEST RUDE BOY (MRS M L CHITTY)
Solid black brindle. Cobby dog with super bone and substance. A little over the measure. Good lay of shoulder and nicely angulated behind. Short backed. Small eye, neat ears. Good width of head, profile and depth of muzzle. Mouth fault. Moved powerfully behind and moderately in front. In the challenge I felt his virtues outweighed his mouth fault. RBD
Post Graduate Dog Entries 2 Absentees 1
1st GRAYMOR GIFTED HEIR (MR & MRS G A HUGHES)
Black brindle Just over the measure. Keen eye, good profile. Would prefer a little more width of muzzle. Mouth just off correct. Good feet. Nicely made throughout. Moved a little wide coming and going. Quality boy, not quite showing to his full potential today.
Limit Dog Entries 2 Absentees 1
1st DECADANCE DELIVERANCE (MISS A DANCE)
Black brindle - A little over the measure, but not as much as I was expecting. I would prefer him shorter coupled, but plenty of bone and substance. Good depth of chest. Super head with pack and turn. Super small eye. Neat ears. Powerful chest. Decent feet. Mouth fault. Moved a little wide coming but tracked up nicely.
Open Dog Entries 5 Absentees 1
1st QUAYARDSON SIR ALFRED (MRS & MR M & A BENNETT & PICKERING)
Black brindle – This classy dog is over measure but is very well made. Super tight cat feet. Short back. Moved the best of the class. Would prefer a slightly keener eye if I’m being picky. Plenty of depth of muzzle and good profile. Correct mouth. Super gunbarrel front . Moved with drive both ways and held topline. Stood up and demanded attention which paid off in the challenge. BD
2nd DECADANCE DEFENDER (MR M DODWELL)
Black brindle – Over the measure. Slightly longer cast than 1 and not so tight in front. Super power packed head with fill and turn. Good eye. Plenty of substance. On the move he was a little loose coming and a little narrow going. Just preferred the tighter knit frame of one. Nonetheless a quality dog.

Feminine tri bitch – 12½ - super condition for age. Well covered. Short back. Nice angulation front and back. Good size. Still has a good front. Would prefer keener eye, but what a credit to her owner and looked like she was thoroughly enjoying herself. Moved well both ways.

1st BULLSEYE FROM THE LITTLE WHITE GIPSEYS (MRS & MS S & J RICHARDSON)
Feminine white with black eye patch– Super length of head with unbroken profile and good muzzle depth. Correct mouth. Tight feet. Good lay of shoulder and rear angulation. Should be very nice on maturity. Good feet. Moved well both ways. BP
2nd SEAQUEST BLACKEYED PEA (MR M NICHOLLS)
White – Feminine, but not the head or make and shape of 1. Neat ears and nice eye. Lacked turn and fill. Sweet tempered and having a good time today.

1st SEAQUEST WARRIOR QUEEN (MRS M L CHITTY)
Tricolour – Just over the measure, but virtues are strength of head, super substance and tight cat feet. She had plenty of quality bone. Good angulation front and back. Moved straight both ways. Plenty of fill and width of muzzle and good eye and earset. Mouth fault.
2nd KOFYN KAUGHT RED HANDED BY JENKIR (MRS & MR J & M HARRISON & PRESTLAND)
Red – Just over the measure. Pretty, feminine girl. A little dropped on pastern at the moment, but still time to mature. A little close going and a little wide coming currently. Decent feet. Neat ears. Unbroken profile, would prefer a little more depth of muzzle to finish the picture. Good depth of brisket and width of loin. Correct mouth.
3rd SEAQUEST QUEEN OF THE NIGHT (MR M DODWELL)
Limit Bitch Entries 6 Absentees 2
1st GRAYMOR GLACIAL DAWN (MR & MRS G A HUGHES)
Quality, feminine white. On the measure. Correct mouth. Nicely made and moved straight front and back, although I would prefer a little more positivity. Lovely long head with unbroken downturn and good depth of muzzle. Neat ears and decent eye. Would perhaps prefer a little more bone and substance, but still a youngster so some maturity yet to come. Correct mouth. Very tight decision in challenge indeed as both very different types, but virtuous in their own way RBB & RBIS
2nd KOFYN KONTESSA VON HOFSTETTER (MRS J WRIGHT)
White - Very neat and tidy mini, under the measure. Lacks a little profile and fill but scores on make and shape and moved straight and with drive and positivity. Correct mouth. Straight front. Good eye and earset.
3rd DECADANCE DIAMOND (MR & MRS D & D DANCE)

1st DECADANCE DRAGONFLY (MR & MRS D & D DANCE)
White – Heavyweight quality bitch with maximum substance to size and not as over the measure as I was expecting. Excellent bone. Tight cat feet. Would prefer slightly shorter coupled, but I am prepared to forgive this in a bitch. Broad chest, but straight front, and well angulated behind. Superb power packed head, turned and filled right up. Correct mouth. Superb oblique, small eye. Moved straight both ways. In the challenge her power and substance just tipped the balance. BB & BIS
2nd QUAYARDSON LADY BELLA (MRS & MS S & J RICHARDSON)
Another super quality bitch. Over the measure. Good head with downturn, depth of muzzle and fill. Mouth just a shade off absolutely correct. Would prefer slightly keener eye and not the absolute pack of muzzle of 1. Straight front and good rear angulation. Moved well both ways with drive. Close decision.
