I would like to thank the ladies of The LKA Committee for inviting me to judge the mini’s at what is one of my favourite shows. It is nearly 3 years since I last judged and size is still a problem as are mouths which I feel should be high on breeders priorities when considering breeding! I was conscious of the KC directive regarding instanding canines which were penalised accordingly. As always I was first and foremost looking for type and a show dog with attitude which Mini’s should have in spades and was very pleased with my winners. I felt that the bitches were much stronger in depth than the males which is slightly worrying if you are searching for a stud dog to use in your breeding program!

1st OLYMPUSBULYS ATLAS (MRS & MR T & S DENT)
10 month black brindle good for size pup with a well filled powerful head and ok profile, wicked eye and good mouth. Well arched neck and good well sprung ribs. Nice short back and correct tail carriage, good round bone down to tidy feet. Moved well once settled. Still some maturing to do.

1st ENTERTAINER GOT A HANGOVER (IMP AUT) (MRS & MR K & J BARR)
Solid brindle terrier type, good square frame and good size, well balanced with strong head that was well filled. Small dark eye, neat ears, long neck short in back and well let down behind. Would like a better tail set. Moved and shown well, in great condition.

1st AUTOMAT THOMPSON VENTURESOME (IMP UKR) (MISS & MISS K & A COOPER & YUNG)
Solid red with a powerful head with turn & fill, perfect mouth & ears on top which he used well, good strong neck & shoulder with correct topline & good tailset, moved & handled well.

1st BULLYPINS KIRIOS (MR & MRS A & M LLEWELLYN)
White with black eye patch. Well balanced with plenty of fill in his shapely head with a strong underjaw and perfect mouth. A good front with more than enough depth, nice round bone, a short muscular back and a good bend of stifle with neat feet. He moved better going than coming which cost him in the challenge. Well Handled showing off his many virtues, I was pleased to award him the RDCC.
2nd BADLESMERE BARBED WIRE (MR & MRS S & N BATTEL)
White different type to 1 Good profile and fill, well placed ears, tiny eye. Mouth ok. Nice body shape and well muscled. Short back with good tail set. Moved ok.

A dog I have admired from the ringside and didn’t disappoint on going over him! A lovely example of our breed from all angles. Shown in pristine, hard condition and although a little over the measure showed correct balance to size, a real bull terrier in miniature. Typey black brindle and white with a powerful masculine head with turn, fill and unbroken profile, topped off with a correct mouth. Ears bang on top which he used well. Wickedest of expressions attained by desired eye shape, long strong neck to good shoulders & topline, leading to well let down hocks and a well set tail. Good round bone & movement true fore & aft once he’d settled DCC BOB pushed hard by his daughter for BOB!
2nd CHATTANOOBA CHOO CHOO AEDESTAURUM (MR J HARPER)
Solid red with a lovely head shape completely filled and turned, wicked expression, deep chest, strong quarters, showed and handled well.
3rd RISIBULLY WOULDN'T IT BE NICE AT FERGUSTAFF (MRS L MARSHALLSAY)

1st JAVARKE WEE FLOWERBOMB (MRS S MCALLISTER)
My star of the day, what a lovely 9 month puppy, took my eye as soon as she entered the ring. Typey all white of correct size, a real Bullterrier in miniature and put down in pristine condition. A lovey feminine head, well filled with an unbroken profile. Small dark eye and well- placed ears giving her a real varminty expression. Good bone and substance for her size. Enough length of neck leading to a well laid shoulder, good level topline held well on the move. Well sprung rib and well angulated hindquarters. The best is still to come from this lovely girl. Moved very well at one with her handler and with a real jaunty gait for one so young which in the end won her BCC and BPIB. Pushed her father hard for BOB but just lost out on maturity. BCC BP

Stood alone but worthy of 1st place. Was good for size unexaggerated attractive feminine head with enough turn & fill & complemented with a wicked eye. Mouth fault. Good neck leading to level topline and good tail set. Moved OK both ways.

Brindle and white. Lovely head filled and turned, perfect mouth, ears bang on top, good feminine expression, Correct neck and shoulder. Straight front, tight feet, well balanced. Good bend of stifle moved with drive and purpose coming and going which in the end won her the class and a well deserved RBCC
2nd JENKIR HERA (MRS J HARRISON)
A lovely tricolour put down in great condition. Good for size, beautiful feminine head, well placed ears. Mouth ok. Good bone and substance. Didn’t want to be here today which was a shame!

Red and white nicely marked feminine bitch with lots to like. Good for size typey girl. Nice head with enough profile and well filled. Well placed ears, with good expression. A balanced girl that moved well both ways.

Red and white with a lovely feminine head with a good mouth . OK for size make and shape. Another that really didn’t want to be here which was a shame as I really liked her!!

Up to size Brindle and white with a Well filled head with gentle arcing profile. Mouth perfect. Well placed dark eye and small ears bang on top. Round bone down to tidy feet. Straight front with deep barrel chest. Ribs well sprung with level topline and good tail carriage. Quarters well angulated and muscular. Moved and handled well. Pushed hard for top honours!
2nd GRANDOPERA EXHIBITIONIST (MRS & MR V L & B FOX)
Different type to one but all the qualities of a top class bitch . Brindle and white. Good for size and well balanced, Beautiful feminine head, small eye and keen expression. Nice front with well laid shoulder. Short back and shapely rear quarters. Moved and handled well. I’m sure 1 &2 could change places on another day.
